How EraseBG handles photos, browser storage, external resources, and advertising.
Last updated: 10 October 2026
Your photos and background removal
EraseBG runs its background-removal model in your browser. The background-removal flow does not send your selected photo to an image-processing server. Original images, cutouts, and editor changes are used locally to prepare your result.
Storage on your device
The browser may cache model files to avoid downloading them again. When you upload from a background-tool page, the selected image is temporarily stored in the browser’s IndexedDB so it can open in the editor. Each transfer has its own identifier so uploads in separate tabs do not overwrite each other. Current transfers are deleted when the editor retrieves them and expire after 10 minutes. A page already open from an older site version may make a one-time legacy transfer; it is deleted on retrieval or the next transfer-storage cleanup. Expired transfers are removed the next time this transfer storage is used; expiry does not run while the site is closed. If a transfer is interrupted, clearing this site’s browser data removes local stored data. Downloaded files remain on your device until you delete them.
Website delivery and external services
Opening the website requires network requests to deliver pages, images, scripts, fonts, and model files. EraseBG uses external services such as Google Fonts, jsDelivr, and Hugging Face to deliver these resources. Hosting and delivery providers may receive connection information such as your IP address, browser information, request time, and requested URL. Local photo processing does not mean that browsing the site makes no network requests.
Read the relevant providers’ policies: Google, jsDelivr, Hugging Face, and Vercel.
Advertising and cookies
EraseBG uses a Google AdSense verification meta tag and an ads.txt entry to identify its publisher account. This version does not load AdSense advertising scripts or display Google ads. Advertising may be introduced after approval and the required consent and placement setup. When ads are served, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on earlier visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalise ads based on visits to sites across the internet, subject to the applicable consent choices.
You can manage personalised advertising through Google My Ad Center and find information about other vendors’ choices at aboutads.info. Read how Google uses information from partner sites. Consent choices will be provided where required when advertising services are activated.
Your choices
You can stop processing by leaving the editor, remove locally stored site data through your browser settings, and delete downloaded images from your device. Clearing cached model files may make the next processing run take longer. External services have their own data practices and privacy controls.
Changes to this page
This page describes the current implementation. Changes to storage, external services, or advertising will be reflected here with an updated date.
